Dancer of the Month

Our Dancer of the Month for April is in her second season of dance.  Remington “Remmy” Stewart was hard at work studying ballet last year.  She added the discipline of tap to her schedule now.  Taking these classes in a row on Tuesdays does not slow her down.  Miss Stewart focuses on both disciplines tremendously. In ballet Remmy is slowly engaging in her plies while watching her shoulder placement and keeping her chin lifted.  She is improving the quality of movement in tendues and degages as well.  Remembering to stand tall, keep her knees straight, and use her feet correctly, she is gaining beautiful mobility in her feet. Of course, she works all of this at the barre and center floor.  In tap she is mastering her shuffle combinations like shuffle, hop toes, and Irishes.  Miss Stewart has an ear for the percussion of tap and music in general.  Aware of her music queues, she is retaining the combos and show work so very well in both techniques. Applying corrections and retaining them makes for a well-polished dancer! Remington is cheerful in class and a bit of a social butterfly. Though she loves her friends and people in general, she does not let it stop her from focusing on her classes.  A big thank you to Remmy for her commitment and sweet personality!
