Our Dancer of the Month for February is in her second season at the studio and working harder than ever to improve her ballet and tap technique. Evie Miner has a tremendous attention span and recites her dance vocabulary without fail every week.
In ballet Miss Miner focuses on her technique at the barre and center. She continues to improve steadily—especially in areas like extension of her legs and feet in tendues. Being aware of placement and technique at all times throughout the ballet class takes incredible dedication and patience. Evie is displaying both. She is embracing her character as a fellow ladybug and performs with such gracefulness. Ms. Georgia comments that she is a joy to have in class.
This is Miss Miner’s first year of tap, and she is quickly picking it up. The technique entails shuffles, Maxie Fords, Charleston steps and Cake Walk kicks. Evie focuses on each step diligently. She has even polished her newest step, the Waltz Clog Time Step. Her performance of the tap piece in our Concert will be a fun surprise.
She is dancing this piece with much enthusiasm and joy for performing. Thank you, Evie for your dedication and hard work!
