Our Dancer of the Month for October is in his third season of dance. Walter Truax is studying jazz, tap, modern, and he just added ballet last Wednesday. He is focused, attentive, and eager to try whatever is asked of him in each discipline. Ms. Georgia finds Walter endures the strength-training exercises very well in jazz. Behind that he is pushing hard to improve his flexibility by stretching as long as he can. This also improves his balance and coordination. He is focusing on placement of his arms in jazz as well, and he is doing A+ work. Ms. Georgia can hardly wait to see what skills Mr. Truax will bring to ballet. In tap Ms. Stefanie added a new grade level, which works on speed and multiples of exercises before using a ball change turn. Walter is keeping up to maintain the right before immediately repeating the exercise on the left. Speedy shuffles are his new claim to fame. Ms. Stefanie adds that he is a very in- tune listener. In modern Walter is eager to try new exercises he has never done before. Bounces, layouts, turns, and swings are just a few of his new skills. He asks all the right questions to ensure he understands the movement completely. Ms. Cindy just added tour jetes two weeks ago. Wouldn’t you know it, he performed them successfully withing five minutes. He is such a pleasure to teach in every class he takes. Thank you, sir.
